We got 7 inches of snow over Christmas. We enjoyed every minute of it and we hope for at least one more chance to sled this winter.

Stella 23 Months
Stella is on the verge of turning 2. We still say she's 1. She is tells me she wants a Dora Princess Party.
Last night she fit (very comfortably) into a pair of Carter's 3t jammies. WOW!
This girl works very hard to keep up with her 5 year old brother. She loves to wear her backpack alongside her brother.
She loves to draw circles and read. Her favorite song is "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star." She can dance and climb all over everything. She loves to help in the kitchen. Stella will sit in the kitchen chairs and stir, pour, and most of all EAT.
This girl can eat. She will try just about anything. She is very good with her knife and fork too.
Stella loved the snow too. She was happy to sled down with Mommy, Daddy, and Thomas.
Stella is very into her babies. She feeds them, changes their diapers, takes them for rides in the stroller, and puts them in the baby crib. She is very loving and gentle. She burps them and rocks them. It is VERY cute to watch.
Her favorite things to say are--
"I DO it. or "Mommy DO it! or Love you!" She's talking our ears off and we love it.
Love you baby girl!!!

Thomas is 5
On November 17th (whoops!) our baby boy turned 5. This year he will go to Kindergarten. Time flies!
We celebrated with having a local children's band come rock out at our house---Big Bang Boom.
At 5 years old Thomas loves dinosaurs, music, and drawing. He can fill a notebook with pictures and writing in no time. He knows more dinosaur facts that anyone we know. He memorizes songs easily. He is learning to read. Over the holiday he loved sledding and started going down our hill on his own.
He loves Stella, who now loves to follow him around and be just like him! Thomas loves that!

Happy New Year 2011!
I'll start with Happy New Year since it's been so long since I've had a good post.
The holidays for our family were very busy.
One of our favorite activities was decorating cookies for Santa!

Pumpkin Patch Visit
Stella and I tagged along on Thomas' pumpkin patch visit with his class today. Stella enjoyed sitting with the class and wandering among the pumpkins. She loved them all and we left with three pumpkins. It was great to see Thomas with his class too! He's got a great bunch this year!
The Big Wheel
We visited one of our local hot spots this weekend--The Mill, or as we call it--"The Big Wheel and the Waterfall.
Thomas Update
Thomas is a planner. He planned a picnic for our family this weekend. He made the list of food. He decided we should have the picnic indoors where it was warm, comfy and we could watch "The Cat and the Hat."
Recently Thomas has had a great interest in reading on his own so we dusted off some of my books from teaching and we've been learning about picture walks, sight words, and other good reading strategies.

Stella Update--20 months!
Stella is starting to string works together more everyday.
After her nap on Wednesday she asked, "How about some apple juice.?"
She regularly rummages though my kitchen cabinets looking for marshmallows and chocolate chips.
If she wants a snack she goes to get a bowl. If she's thirsty she'll likely get her own cup for you. She likes to take her dirty dishes to the sink too.
She knows how to put her laundry in the laundry basket and she helps me unload the dishwasher.
She LOVES to help her Daddy make coffee in the morning.
She loves on Thomas with hugs and kisses and follows him everywhere. She calls him "Nomas."
Every time we approach his school she announces "walk."
She loves to laugh, sing, and dance too.

Back to School 2010
Thomas started school today. 5 days a week, all half days.
He's so excited and loves his class and teachers.
He walked in with no problem.
Mom was the one who got a hug from the teacher and needed tissues.

Stella's Backpack
Stella saw T getting a back pack. She started calling out--"backpack, backpack. Dor, (Dora), Dor."
Who can resist that face??
I don't think she'd be too happy if I actually left her at school. No school for her for awhile!!!

Moving to New Heights
I wish I had a picture, but that would be dangerous.
You've seen the photos of Stella on the very low train table.
She's moving on to kitchen tables and adult size desks now.
I even walked into the playroom yesterday to see that she had moved a chair over to the shelf, climbed the chair and stood straight up to reach markers. She learned that one from T.
